Bucyrus Fire Disaster Relief Fund Targets Year-End Goal
Dakota Plains Federal Credit Union’s President/CEO Peter Butterfield announced that the “Bucyrus Disaster Relief Fund” has received in excess of $100,000 to date to aid the victims of the wildfire that destroyed a number of homes in Bucyrus, ND on October 17, 2102.
The credit union will continue to accept donations from anyone wanting to help the fire victims. Donations may be made payable to: Bucyrus ND Disaster Relief Fund, c/o Dakota Plains Federal Credit Union, 221 S. Main St., PO Box 1020, Hettinger, ND 58639 or through the credit union’s website at www.dakotaplainsfcu.com.
Bucyrus, a small farming community located in South Western North Dakota, was devastated by a fire that took place on Wednesday, October 17. While there were no major injuries, the property loss was immense for the town of 27 inhabitants.
The Bucyrus Disaster Relief Committee has been working in conjunction with Lutheran Disaster Response of Fargo, ND to assess the needs of the fire victims. Butterfield urged interested donors to make their contributions by December 31, 2012.
