Travis Kasten and Jay Kruse from Service First Federal Credit Union in Sioux Falls recently took part in an exclusive pheasant fun hunt with South Dakota Congresswoman Kristie Noem.

Sponsored through a Credit Union Association of the Dakotas CULAC (Credit Union Legislative Action Council) donation, the event, which included 15 participants, was held September 16-17 at Sutton Bay resort in Agar, SD as a fund raiser for the Congresswoman.

The two were there to represent credit unions in the Dakotas, and were joined by 15 other high powered lobbyist from Verizon, Best Buy, and Target just to name a few.

“We had a lot of one on one time with Kristi Noem, Jordan (Chief of Staff) and Steve Kirby, Kristi’s host. We outlined the importance of the credit union movement, the roles credit unions play in the our communities, and the role that larger credit unions play in assisting smaller credit unions” reported Kasten. “Jay had several good conversations regarding the work credit unions do in serving all persons in their communities along with the benefits that coincide with membership. He was spectacular and it was impressive to see a young person so involved and passionate about the movement” he added.

Noem must have liked what she heard: She donated an autographed cowboy hat for the CMN fundraiser that Sioux Falls FCU is having next month.
