CU on the Road Going the Extra Mile
Story ID: 2366  Print Friendly and PDF
Date Posted: September 26, 2012

Next Tuesday, October 2, the CU on the Road tour will be at Kaladi’s Coffee Shop in Sioux Falls, SD.

As part of this event, students from Augustana College are participating in a “random acts of kindness” project. This Monday, seven students who are part of the
Student Council for Exceptional Children organization at the college were each given $20 and instructions to use the money any way they wish in random acts of kindness. For their participation in the event, the student organization will receive a $500 donation from CUAD. CUAD will also pick one student which we feel did the best job and will be rewarding them with a prize. (Watch for a future Memo story about the random acts of kindness this project generated!)

On October 2nd, those seven students will be stopping by the coffee shop during the day to share their stories about what they did with their $20. CUAD’s Robbie Thompson and Amy Kleinschmit will be on location all day, from 8 am to 5 pm. So far, two volunteers (Marge Olson and Darla Erb of Voyage FCU) have agreed to help during the day. We are still looking for more volunteers, if you can help please contact Amy Kleinschmit at
akleinschmit@cuad.coop.

The concept for this little project was based on this video. Warning: tissues will be needed!
